I have recieved an update from Tara Alverson, the American artist who wrote the Pagpipinta sa Pulo newsletters. If you remember, she spent most of 2008 in the Philippines, helping International Care Ministries with their Feeding, Medical, Precious Women’s, and Children’s Outreach Programs. You can still read her newsletters here.
While she was in the Philippines, Tara also created a series of artworks, that will be auctioned off in February. The proceeds from 9 of pieces will be donated to the ICM Outreach Programs. You can see her artwork at: http://www.paintingonislands.vpweb.com/. There is also a contact page. The purchase of any of the 9 donated pieces is tax deductable.
If you are in the Seattle, Washington area, you can see Tara’s paintings and drawings in person. They will be at the Lyon’s Den Coffee Shoppe, 10415 Beardslee Blvd, Bothell, WA, during the month of February. Clicking on the links below will take you to Tara’s Evite, for more info on the February 7th Art Show. There is also a link to a map, in case you are not sure how to get to that Lyon’s Den Coffee Shoppe.
